Singapore has been invaded before but never quite like this. Since February of 2011, visitors to the ArtScience Museum at the Marina Bay Sands have been flocking to see the invasion of Genghis Khan’s artifacts, a visiting collection sake of the great warlord’s personal sake possessions which has swept down upon Singapore like the master of war himself.
As one of the first shows of the ArtScience Museum, this is a masterpiece of history, culture, and martial excitement. sake For the first time, this extensive collection is being shown in Asia and the ArtScience Museum seems to be the best place for it.
Titled, Genghis Khan: The Exhibition, the show traverses to the time of the 13th Century when the boy named Temujin became the man called Genghis Khan. With amazing visual sake recreations of the landscape, lifestyle, and the many battlegrounds the warlord lived on, visitors will be sure to see not only the weapons, but also the grasslands, yurts, and culture sake of the legendary Mongol Empire.
Filling sake nearly 1,500 square meters, the exhibition not only tells the story of Genghis Khan but also of the scientific and cultural advances which allowed him to conquer nearly all of his known world.
Genghis Khan was one of the greatest and most misunderstood leaders in the history of the world. This exhibition gives those who visit it, the chance to come to an understanding and perhaps to even touch a bit of the greatness of this amazing and real life superhero.
According to Tom Zaller, the Director of the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands, visitors will not only see and touch, but also smell the Mongol empire. The exhibit not only brings the past to life, but also sheds light on how the Mongol Empire reshaped the world of the past into the world we know today.
Once known only for his brutality and blood thirst, Genghis Khan was actually a wise statesman who used technological and political innovation to shape one of the greatest empires in the history of the world. Not only did he reshape political boundaries, he also changed politics and finance by introducing such things as passports and paper money. Some go so far as to say he was the first to bring trousers into the world!
The show continues until April 10th, 2011, so if you want to see the famous Mongol Mummy, see weapon exhibitions, visit a Mongolian Ger (yurt), or come to understand just how great the great Genghis Khan really was you should head to the museum soon.
